Shaun Cubbage, the Managing Director of Auscub Service Pty Ltd, is a seasoned professional with a deep-rooted background in the mining and engineering sectors. Relocating to Kalgoorlie-Boulder in the late 1980s, Shaun began his career with a qualification in Vehicle Engineering Motor Body Building. His journey in the mining industry started with respected companies such as JR Engineering and Omega Contracting, where he advanced to supervisory roles through dedication and expertise.

Over a distinguished 30-year career, Shaun has gained extensive experience working across various minesites. His roles have spanned from construction and project management to reliability and engineering, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the industry. In 2005, Shaun leveraged his vast knowledge and hands-on approach to establish Auscub Service Pty Ltd, a company that specializes in piping fabrication and installation.

Shaun’s extensive experience encompasses plant construction, pipeline installation, and flat plastic fabrication, making him a valuable asset in the mining sector. His leadership at Auscub Service Pty Ltd reflects his commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and innovative approaches tailored to meet client needs.

Colleen Horton embodies the spirit and resilience of Kalgoorlie, where she represents the third generation of her family to be born in this vibrant community. Her deep roots in the Goldfields Esperance region have shaped a remarkable career marked by versatility and dedication.

With an impressive 30 years of professional experience, Colleen’s expertise spans a broad range of disciplines. Her career began in administration and accounts, where she developed a keen eye for detail and a robust understanding of financial management. Over the years, she expanded her skill set to include project management and the development of training programs, demonstrating an adaptability that has been key to her success across various roles.

Colleen’s commitment to her community extends beyond her professional achievements. She has devoted 15 years to volunteering with the State Emergency Service (SES), where she has taken on numerous responsibilities. From training volunteers across the state to coordinating critical events and managing operations, Colleen's contributions have been instrumental in supporting and enhancing the capabilities of the SES.

Her career and volunteer work are a testament to her dedication and adaptability. Colleen’s ability to navigate diverse challenges with competence and grace highlights her role as a cornerstone of her community. Through her work and volunteer efforts, she continues to make a significant impact in the Goldfields Esperance region, embodying the values of service and resilience that define her life’s work.

Name: Chris Davidson

Position: Supervisor

Chris Davidson is a dedicated and highly skilled Supervisor with a rich background in welding, fabrication, and supervisory roles within the mining and industrial sectors. His journey began with a Boilermaker Apprenticeship at Fritz Steel in Queensland, which he completed in 2010. This foundational training set the stage for a dynamic career characterized by continuous learning and growth.

Following his apprenticeship, Chris took on the role of Submerged Arc Welder Operator at Bendworks. This position allowed him to refine his welding skills before he moved to Geraldton, Western Australia, in 2012. In Geraldton, Chris expanded his expertise as a Motor Body Builder, gaining valuable experience that would serve him well in future roles.

In 2014, Chris relocated to Kalgoorlie with his partner to start a family and joined Auscub Service. His time at Auscub was pivotal; he mastered Poly Butt Welding and Extrusion Welding and took on supervisory roles, managing significant projects such as the Kaltails Tailing Pipe Upgrade for KCGM Fimiston. His leadership extended to overseeing various smaller projects and mine site maintenance throughout the Goldfields region.

Chris’s career continued to evolve as he ventured into the Pilbara region, working for RIO Tinto, Pannawonica, and Giddiatry as a Dewatering Technician. His role expanded to include Health and Safety Representative duties, where he played a crucial role in maintaining and modifying dewatering piping systems.

As the COVID-19 pandemic came to a close, Chris saw an opportunity to leverage his extensive experience to assist small businesses in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. He focused on helping these businesses enhance their poly welding capabilities and support local mining companies more effectively.

In 2021, Chris returned to Auscub Services, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a renewed passion for his work. At Lynas Rare Earth, he took on the role of Supervisor during the construction works, managing quoting and estimating for both workshop fabrication and site installation. Simultaneously, he continued to advance his knowledge by studying Engineering, further solidifying his expertise and dedication to the field.

Name: Nico Stegeman

Position: Estimator/Procurement Officer

Nico Stegeman steps into a new role as estimator at Auscub Service Pty Ltd, renowned for his extensive background in mechanical fitting, construction, and mining operations. With a career spanning several decades, Nico has developed a robust skill set that encompasses a broad range of technical and supervisory roles.

Nico's journey began in his hometown of George Town, Tasmania, where he completed his schooling before embarking on an apprenticeship as a mechanical fitter at Hydro Tasmania. Here, he worked on innovative projects such as the First Electric Over Hydraulic Drill Rig and gained foundational experience in installing gates and valves at the Macintosh Murchison.

Seeking new opportunities, Nico moved to New South Wales to work with Transfield on power station construction projects. Over four years, he honed his skills in pipe fitting, conveyors, and rigging, which proved instrumental in his subsequent roles.

In 1989, Nico relocated to Western Australia, where he took on underground work with Monadelphous and JR Engineering. His expertise in repairing crushers, mills, gearboxes, and conveyors across various processing plants was further complemented by his involvement in construction projects at major mine sites including Tropicana, Tom Price, Gruyere, and Lefroy.

After a four-year period back in New South Wales working on the Mt Owen Coal construction site, Nico returned to Western Australia with CPC as a Construction Supervisor at Daveyhurst. In this role, he expanded his experience in site supervision and project management, further enhancing his leadership capabilities.

Currently, at Auscub Service Pty Ltd, Nico utilizes his extensive knowledge in gearboxes, cone and jaw crushers, tanks, poly fabrication, pipe fitting, dam lining, and vent fan installations. His deep understanding of these areas, coupled with his practical experience, positions him as a vital contributor to the company's estimating and project planning efforts.

With over 27 years of experience in administration and bookkeeping, Briony Burt has built a distinguished career marked by dedication, expertise, and a deep commitment to her roles. Her professional journey spans various sectors, including private, public, and not-for-profit organizations, showcasing her versatile skill set and adaptability.

Briony's career took a significant turn when she spent 12 years in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. During her time in the Goldfields, she cultivated a robust network and established valuable connections across the region. Her ability to integrate into the local community and contribute effectively to diverse organizational environments underscored her reputation as a reliable and skilled professional.

Upon relocating back to Victoria to be closer to her family, Briony continued to leverage her extensive experience in administration and bookkeeping. She now works remotely for Auscub Service, where she remains dedicated to addressing the company's business needs with the same passion and precision that have defined her career. Briony is known for her willingness to offer support and share her valuable knowledge, reflecting her commitment to both her role and her colleagues.

Name: Resharn Alman

Position: Administration/Human Resources Assistant

Resharn Alman was born in Kalgoorlie, Australia, into a family deeply rooted in the rich heritage of the Goldfields region. Growing up in this vibrant mining community, Resharn developed a strong work ethic and a keen sense of service that would guide her through a diverse career.

Early in her professional journey, Resharn gained valuable experience in the retail and pharmacy sectors. Her roles included managing customer service and handling complaints, which honed her skills in effective communication and problem-solving. She was adept at cash handling, stock procurement, and maintaining high standards of product presentation. Additionally, Resharn managed the dispensing of scripts and delivered Webster packs to nursing homes in Kalgoorlie, demonstrating her commitment to community health and safety. Her responsibilities also extended to answering phones, taking messages, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

In 2022, Resharn transitioned to a new role at Auscub Service, initially serving as an onsite Administration Assistant for the Lynas construction project. Her exceptional organizational skills and adaptability soon led to a broader role within the company. By 2023, Resharn’s responsibilities evolved to encompass Human Resources and Payroll. In this capacity, she handled data entry, personnel mobilisation, flight and accommodation bookings, and document control, in addition to continuing her duties in phone management and messaging.

Resharn’s professional experiences are complemented by her extensive travels within Australia and internationally. Her exposure to diverse cultures and environments has enriched her perspective and contributed to her versatility in handling various roles and challenges.

With a career marked by growth and a dedication to service excellence, Resharn Alman remains a valued member of the Auscub team, bringing both her local insights and global experiences to her professional endeavours.
